Indigo Night Printwear and Graphics 310 East Market Street Charlottesville, VA 22902 May 10, 2004 To Whom It May Concern, I would like to share a few comments about my recent experience working with Bruce Andrew Peters. I approached Bruce several months ago on the advise on my friend and business associate, Geoff Kilmer, of Photoworks Creative Group here in Charlottesville. Geoff and Bruce have a working relationship that spans several years. I had asked Geoff for a recommendation in the PR field, someone to help us with a marketing project. Geoff recommended Bruce with great enthusiasm. I can now second that recommendation. Bruce is easy to work with. After an initial meeting of about an hour I was confident that he had a good sense of what we are about and what we wanted to achieve. After a few more phone calls and emails on strategy with Bruce, my partner and I decided to hire him on for the project: the development of a marketing campaign, with a “new product announcement” as the centerpiece, to boost our retails sales. Bruce is an excellent wordsmith. His writing manages to be both succinct and friendly at the same time… to the point, yet conversational. He came up with a new “symbol mark” saying for the product we’re promoting that we are particularly excited about — this alone was worth the price of admission! (We’ve since aquired this as a domain name that re-directs to our website... again, on Bruce’s advice.) I think Bruce’s intuition about our dempographic is right on the mark. Is it intuition? Or experience? I guess balancing the two is the art of public relations and marketing... an art he practices quite well in my opinion. I remain yours sincerely, Christopher Vanden Wymelenberg Indigo Night Graphics and Printwear __________________________________________________________________ To whom it may concern: When I first met Bruce Andrew Peters, we discussed communication initiatives to heighten our company’s visibility and public relations. As a creative services firm, such efforts are key. Previous employees in this position had yielded few results. So, success in these areas really meant a lot to us. Bruce’s education, experience and creativity in photojournalism, communication, business and media relations instilled confidence in his abilities, but we never could have guessed how far he would exceed our expectations. Almost immediately, Bruce captured several very positive media features on our company. During the holiday season, he created a campaign for the Salvation Army highlighting the plight of area homeless. Photoworks Creative Group received numerous letters of commendation and extensive print, radio and television coverage for his efforts. The campaign also enabled the community to donate at our location enhancing goodwill and company visibility, while yielding several large pallets of donations in our warehouse! Amidst the numerous successful initiatives Bruce led simultaneously, he captured international feature coverage of our company in Photo Marketing Magazine. Bruce could always be relied upon to craft creative, concise writing in record time. Bruce’s marketing education at The George Washington University, his communication results and extensive business experience prompted the company owners to promote Bruce to Director of Marketing after just three months of employment. Through resourcefulness and creativity, Bruce led University of Virginia interns on client outreach surveys and communication initiatives – creating a tremendous learning opportunity for the interns. Photoworks and our clientele benefit to this day. Enhanced communication from these initiatives makes it easier to fulfill their requirements. Above all else, Bruce possesses great enthusiasm for the company and its objectives, always working cheerfully and purposefully toward these ends. He works well with persons from all levels and walks of life. I am more than happy to discuss Bruce’s contributions to our organization at any time. Please feel free to call. Sincerely, Geoffrey Kilmer President _________________________________________________________________ "Thanks for the photos! I was delighted with the results. The magazine had a very small staff and was more dependent than most publications on the freelancers who were hired for particular assignments. My style was to attempt not to stifle the creative abilities of the people who were assigned stories, or who brought story ideas to me. Frequently, I would receive work that was incomplete in its research or poorly written. As a result, I would be required to go back to the subject to fill in the missing information. Bruce, on the other hand, could always be depended upon to turn in a story ready to be published. If I assigned him a certain length, that is exactly what I would receive. If I requested pictures of partiular subjects, they were there when we reviewed his photographs. On the rare occasion that something did need changing or updating, Bruce cheerfully went about the task. Having seen the work of some other freelancers, Bruce was a delightful comparison. I truly feel that Bruce would be a valuable addition to any publication or editorial staff. Please feel free to contact me. Yours truly, Carolyn M. Green, Editor, Loudoun Magazine
